Welcome to my WordPress blog.

As a user of Joomla I wanted to try one of the alternative programs to see how it functioned. After a fair amount of research I decided to try WordPress.

So far I find WordPress an excellent system and relatively easy to use. Typically I have not read the user manual and there are a couple of issues I want to check.

WordPress should not be compared directly with Joomla as they are oriented in different directions. WordPress is definetely set up to function best for blogs whereas Joomla is oriented more towards content and perhaps is also easier to use to set up web sites. Having said that it needs to be considered that I am very much a newby to WordPress.

Generally I am not a great fan of blogs and personally do not want to have anything to do with Facebook. I have never used a blog before and this is my first entry so please do not be surprised if my entries are few and far between.
